Tangyuan symbolizes reunion and family reunion. The name of Tangyuan is similar to the word for “reunion”, which means reunion, symbolizing the family reunion, harmony and happiness.
What is tangyuan
Tangyuan is a must-have food for winter solstice. It is a round dessert made of glutinous rice flour. In some areas, “Fu Yuanzi” was renamed Lantern Festival.
Tangyuan is one of the representative snacks of the Chinese Han nationality and has a very long history. It originated in the Song Dynasty, when Mingzhou (now Ningbo City) began to eat a novel food. That is, black sesame, lard, and white sugar were used as raw materials.
First grind black sesame seeds into powder, then add lard and white sugar into the mixture and knead into a ball to make a stuffing. Use glutinous rice flour on the outside to knead the shape of the members. After cooking, it tastes sweet, delicious and interesting.

Ingredients:

How to make tangyuan
1. Prepare the black sesame filling ingredients.
2. Cooked black sesame seeds and sugar are crushed in a food processor, and the lard is melted in the microwave.
3. Mix the crushed black sesame seeds and melted lard together.
4. After refrigerating into a solid, take out a 10g ball, round it for use, 10g bean paste filling, roll it into a ball and set it aside.
5. Prepare the raw materials for Tang Yuan.
6. Mix glutinous rice flour and starch, pour into boiling water twice and mix well.
7. Add the butter while it’s still hot.
8. In order to distinguish between bean paste and sesame flavors, I divided the dough into two parts, and one added 3g pumpkin powder.
9. Divide 20g each, wrap the stuffing in it, and roll it in dry glutinous rice flour.
10. Boiling in hot water.
11. It’s good for the Lantern Festival to float up.
12. Serving.

Two-color Tangyuan
Ingredients
