What is grass jelly
Grass jelly is a traditional specialty drink in the southwest of Fujian. Among them, the authentic ancient practice in China is to boil the herbs directly. And other useful fairy grass powder, fairy grass liquid production.
In addition to being popular in Fujian and Taiwan, grass jelly is also popular in Japan and Southeast Asia.
Grass jelly Recipe
Ingredients:
Grass jelly powder | 25g |
Water | 620g |
White sugar | 30g (optional) |
Tips & Variations
1. Turn down the heat before pouring in the fairy grass water, and keep stirring when pouring in until it is cooked (otherwise, there will be lumps).
2. When the mold is cooked, filter the lumps with a slotted spoon, so that the taste will be better.
How to make grass jelly
1. Use about one-third of the melted fairy grass powder.
2. Boil the rest of the water, add sugar to melt (optional).
3. Turn to low heat, slowly pour in the fairy grass water, and keep stirring.
4. When cooking, you can slowly skim off those bubbles, wait for the water to boil again and it will be cooked, filter it with a slotted spoon and pour it into the mold.
5. Let it cool down, and it is ready to be cut into pieces.
6. It’s good to add some honey.
