What is Glass Noodles
Glass noodles are a type of Asian noodle dish. They are usually served cold or at room temperature. The dish consists of glass noodles (also known as cellophane noodles) and other ingredients such as vegetables, meat, seafood, eggs, and sauces.
Glass noodles are also called mung bean noodles. They are made from mung beans, wheat flour, salt, water, and sometimes starch. In some countries, they are often cooked before serving.
In China, Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Myanmar, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and Burma, the dish is typically eaten with rice. It can be found in many restaurants across these countries.
The dish was introduced to North America by Chinese immigrants in the late 19th century. It became popular among the Chinese community in Canada and the United States during the early 20th century.
Today, it is still widely available in Chinatowns around the world.
Glass Noodles Recipe
Ingredients:
Sausage (scrambled eggs) | Half a root (if 2 scrambled eggs) |
Pork belly | 50 grams |
Red Mushroom (Shiitake) | 10 pieces |
Green garlic | 1 |
Chinese cabbage | 1 piece |
Peanut oil + sesame oil | 3+2 tablespoons |
Rice wine | 1 tablespoon |
Salt | 2 tablespoons |
Soy sauce | 4 tablespoons |
Sugar | 1 tablespoon |
Olive oil | 1 tablespoon |
Garlic | 1 petal |
How to make Glass Noodles
1. Wash and cut all kinds of meat and vegetables. Wash the red mushrooms and remove the umbrella head, soak for ten minutes.
2. Stir-fried sesame oil + peanut oil and pork belly to produce oil
3. Put garlic, green garlic sausage (egg), red mushroom (shiitake) and stir fry with sugar, light soy sauce, salt, rice wine
4. Add cabbage and stir-fry to remove water and add salt
6. Mix winter noodles with light soy olive oil
7. Put the winter noodles in a pot and mix well. Add half a bowl of water for soaking red mushrooms (shiitake mushrooms), and add green garlic after they are cooked
8. Success! Perfect! Put it out! delicious!
