Chinese Fried Chicken is a very famous dish in China. Because it is simple and delicious, it has been loved by many people since ancient China.
What is Chinese Fried Chicken?
Chinese fried chicken is made of fried marinated chicken. In the ancient Chinese book of “Qi Min Yao Shu”, there is a recipe record that mixes the chopped chicken with soy sauce and cooking wine, then fries them.
And the Cantonese-style fried chicken is very popular in China now. The outer layer of fried chicken is golden and it is beautiful and crispy. The chicken is tender and delicious. This cooking method can be used for fried chicken meat, chicken legs and chicken wings. It is also suitable for fish, shrimp, pork and other fried foods.
Chinese Fried Chicken Recipe:
You’ll need:
550g Chicken leg with skin
3 tablespoons flour
1/2 tablespoon cooking wine
3 tablespoons starch
2 tablespoons garlic, finely minced
2 tablespoons ginger, finely minced
2 eggs
1-2 teaspoons salt
1-2 tablespoons light soy sauce
Olive oil
1-2 teaspoons sugar
2 teaspoons cumin powder
2 teaspoons black pepper
How to make Chinese Fried Chicken
1. Wash the chicken legs and remove the bones. Then cut the chicken into pieces. (Make sure there is a bit of chicken skin on each piece of chicken)
2. Put the chicken in a bowl and add 1 tablespoon of light soy sauce, 1 teaspoon of salt, garlic, ginger, 1/2 tablespoon cooking wine and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Then, add 1 tablespoon olive oil and 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper in the bowl. Mix it well and marinate for more than half an hour.
3. Add 3 tablespoons of starch and 3 tablespoons of flour on a plate and mix well. Add 2 eggs in a bowl and beat well.
4. Wrap the chicken in a flour mixture and then wrap a layer of egg liquid. Then wrap a layer of flour mixture again. Put the chicken on a plate and set aside.
5. Heat a wok with olive oil about 150°C/300°F, fry the chicken for 3-4 minutes until golden. Transfer the fried chicken on a plate.
6. Heat the oil over 180°C/350°F, fried the chicken again for 1 minute. Transfer the fried chicken on a plate. Sprinkle black pepper and cumin powder on the chicken. Serve it with ketchup.
